Babanloma Community Lauds Gov Abdulfatah Ahmed on Roads Members of the Babanloma Community in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State under the auspices of Babanloma Descendants Union have commended the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed for fulfilling his campaign promises by rehabilitating two township roads in the community. The appreciation was contained in a letter to the governor signed by the Union's National President, Mr. Afolabi Salami and its National Secretary, Dr. Dauda Adeshola. The union pledged the community's support and loyalty to the Kwara State government and prayed that "God Almighty continue to strengthen the effort of Governor Ahmed's administration aimed at improving the lots of people of the State." It will be recalled that the State government last week completed the rehabilitation of two township roads in Babalonma.

Ilorin court docks police officer one year after murder A Police Officer, Samuel Akpomoshi, has been arraigned by an Ilorin Magistrate Court for alleged murder of Chairman of Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) , Ajase-Ipo chapter, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State on May 29, 2015. The 23 years old Akpomoshi , from Igbaja , was charged with Culpable Homicide contrary to section 224 of Penal Code Law. The suspect allegedly committed the offence during a stop and search along Igbaja/Ajase-Ipo Road on the said date and was was arraigned one year after. The matter has been transferred from Divisional Police Headquarters, Igbaja to Police Headquarters , Ilorin for discreet investigation. 5,000 children to benefit from Kits for Kids Education Intervention in Kwara State Over 5,000 children in public schools across Kwara State are set to benefit from the Kits for Kids Africa education intervention. The project, which is an initiative of the Aurora International Charity Foundation, founded by ex-beauty queen, Tomi Salami, is set to stage a massive education intervention outreach, which will hold from May 23 to 26, 2016. In a statement released by Salami, the education intervention is targeted at helping over 5,000 needy children in public schools across Kwara State. She stated that items to be provided will include, brand new school bags, sandals, stockings, exercise books and stationery. Other items such as lunch bowls, tooth brushes, water bottles and lots more will also be provided to the children.
